Marilynn Poe

Marilynn Poe moved to Los Alamitos in 1943. She was first elected to Los Alamitos City Council in 1994 and has served as the Mayor in 1999, 2003 and again in 2010. She has held numerous executive volunteer positions throughout the community, including President of Los Alamitos Youth Center and President of Los Alamitos Museum. She has also served on the boards for the Los Alamitos High School Football Foundation, Partner Solutions Family Resource Center and Pack 4 the Future. Marilyn is an active member of the Rossmoor-Los Alamitos Republican Women Federated. She has worked professionally over the last 25 years as an income tax preparer. Marilynn attended the historical Community Congregational Church until it was torn down to make way for commercial development. This fueled her passion for preventing the loss of another monument of Los Alamitos’ early roots. Marilyn is a founding member of the St. Isidore Historical Plaza and has served on its Board of Directors since 1999. She also serves as Corresponding Secretary.
