Bruce Murphy

Bruce Murphy moved with his family to Los Alamitos in 1960 when his father was assigned as a military consultant to the aerospace program. Bruce and his brother and sisters enjoyed growing up in Los Alamitos. He joined the Air Force in 1969. He returned to Los Alamitos in the summer of 1971 to marry Esther Mejia at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. He was honorably discharged from the Air force in 1973. Bruce attended Cypress College and Cal State University, Long Beach and subsequently worked for an international distributing company for ten years. He then started his own distribution company in 1980. Bruce continues to run his business with his 2 sons. He spent six years on the board of Edge Marketing and Procurement Group as Vice President. This is a group of 100 companies that does group marketing, making over 600 million dollars in purchases annually. He is an active member of Holy Family Cathedral, serving as both a team member for the RCIA program and as a member of the Developmentally Challenged Adult Ministry. Bruce currently resides in Orange, but maintains strong connections to family and friends living in the Los Alamitos area. Bruce currently serves on the St. Isidore Board of Directors.
