Volunteer Areas of Service:
Office and Administration
Assist with special mailings, data entry, answering phones and a multitude of promotional projects. It doesn’t matter if you have a few hours a day or a few hours a week, we can use your help.
Heart of the City
Did you know that Heart of the City provides food and clothing assistance to over 600 families in need per month? Heart of the City operates out of St. Isidore Historical Plaza on the 2nd and 3rd Saturday mornings of the month. If you have a warm smile and a warm heart, we would love your help in helping those in need.
St. Isidore Historical Plaza has all kinds of special events throughout the year: Picnic at the Plaza, Tamale Making Workshops, Member Events, Cinco de Mayo Fiesta and more. We're always in need of assistance for set up and tear down, facilities, publicity, event planning and event management and staffing. If you have a lot of energy and like to have fun, we need volunteers like you!
Bound for Success After-School Tutoring Program
Bound for Success is a free after-school tutoring program aimed at helping kids succeed. We always have more kids than tutors and are always looking for volunteers with speciall skills in education and development. There are few experiences more rewarding than encouraging children to learn, grow and succeed.
Are you a detective? Is your passion early California history…or local history? Do you like art? We are trying to hunt down information on our beautiful windows, our history, our relationship with the Ranchos and more. Or maybe photography is your passion. We have old photos that need identification, digitizing and restoration. Or perhaps you’re a wiz with oral histories? If any of this sounds exciting, please contact us.
St. Isidore Historical Plaza is a special place where the community comes to celebrate, meet, educate and inspire. Most of our facilities maintenance and management is on a volunteer basis, so if you like to roll up your sleeves and do a bit of gardening, kitchen organization or even small repairs, this is the place for you!
